Travel Agent to the Rescue – with Peter Fiske from Clayfield Travel

It's time to feel like a superhero again with this week's Travel Agent to the Rescue story. Peter Fiske from Clayfield Travel again saves the day.

It’s time to feel like a superhero again with this week’s Travel Agent to the Rescue story. Peter Fiske from Clayfield Travel again saves the day.

We’ve featured Peter before on both Travel Agent to the Rescue and Agent Insights.

But we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to hear another one of his stories about a time he came to the rescue and saved his clients from a potentially disastrous situation.

Take it away Peter.

**

In Oct 2011, when Qantas grounded its fleet, I had a business client in Buenos Aires.

He was a Qantas Chairman’s Lounge Member who was booked to come home the next day on Qantas.

It was 29 Oct on a Saturday evening in Brisbane and we had people over for dinner.

As soon as I got the news. I immediately thought of my client and logged into my office at home.

I was able to rebook him onto LAN flights, and then called him at 5am Buenos Aires time as he was not yet aware of the situation.

We issued his LAN ticket, and he made it home on time and we got him a refund from QF.

Well done Peter.

His story shows us yet again that when travel agents are in control of a booking, they’re able to save the day from the other side of the world.

Go travel agents, go!
