Travel Agents spill on the dumbest questions they've ever been asked

Last week, KarryOn posted one of those hilarious Travel Agent Memes on our Facebook page. It read: Growing up I was told there are no stupid questions – being a Travel Agent has determined that's a lie.

Last week, KarryOn posted one of those hilarious Travel Agent Memes on our Facebook page. It read: Growing up I was told there are no stupid questions – being a Travel Agent has determined that’s a lie.

But we weren’t prepared for what happened next.

Within minutes the post had attracted hundreds of likes, and it obviously struck a chord with you all.

So then, naturally, we asked you what were the stupidest questions you’ve ever been asked during your time as a Travel Agent – 89 comments, 550+ likes, and 57 shares later and we were totally blown away.

The post itself reached over 30,000 people in the Travel Industry. Amazing.

Here’s what got it all started…

There was so much gold in those comments that we HAD to write a story and share some of our favourite stupid questions to the rest of our audience. Plus, we thought it nice to shine some of the light on our awesome readers and give them some moments in the KarryOn spotlight.

So to kick us off, may I submit the below as the STUPIDEST question EVER asked to a Travel Agent:

WTF?

Travel has become WAY more affordable these days than it has ever been, and so more and more people are able to experience exotic cultures and discover something totally new.

But then, perhaps not everyone should be allowed to travel, certainly not those that ask questions such as these…

Well to be fair, the concept of time is pretty confusing to begin with, and there are Philosophy departments all around the world grappling with the subject…

And yeah, some people have never left the country before, so that is forgivable…

And Bali is never marketed as Denpasar, so yeah, maybe not too stupid…

But then this?

Hey, come on people – this is basic geography here! England is about as close to South Africa as the North Pole is close to the Antarctica – so yeah, not close at all.

But it doesn’t stop there…

Wow, the concept of time is definitely not understood well at all by some members of the travelling public.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

But then hang on just a moment there Travel Agents, thinking you’re all smartypants-like. Sometimes even YOU can ask stupid questions…

But then at least you’re able to admit it…

But it’s not your fault guys. After all, it’s only natural that some of that stupidity you have to deal with on a day-to-day basis rubs off on you…

But let’s hope you’re able to defend yourself against the scourge of asking questions that are just downright bizarre.

Such as these bad boys…

Okay…

Well that’s weird…

And that’s just plain creepy.

But let’s finish on some of my personal faves…

Hmm, so maybe there IS such a thing as a stupid question after all, eh?

Do you have a stupid question you’d love to share? Then leave them in the comments below and we’ll include the best in our part 2.

**Thanks to everyone that commented and made us all laugh!
