TravelManagers and suppliers stage a successful get-together in Sydney

After a two-year pandemic-induced delay, TravelManagers recently hosted a supplier market day in Sydney for the long-awaited opportunity for partner suppliers and personal travel managers (PTMs) to connect and catch up.

After a two-year pandemic-induced delay, TravelManagers recently hosted a supplier market day in Sydney for the long-awaited opportunity for partner suppliers and personal travel managers (PTMs) to connect and catch up.

TravelManagers executive general manager Michael Gazal said the day’s format was informal and festive to allow the 36 suppliers and 50 PTMs to enjoy a productive event.

“International travel is experiencing a rapid recovery and our objective is to ensure that our PTMs can share their experiences and be updated directly by suppliers about their operations and products and are generally well-equipped to comprehensively respond to customer enquiries,” he said.

“PTMs travelled to Sydney for the market day from as far away as ACT, Dubbo and Forster, while supplier Wendy Wu came all the way from London to attend.”

ACT-based PTM Michael Perrone said that having so many suppliers under one roof was a fantastic initiative, providing an ideal opportunity to reconnect and make new connections.

Switzerland Tourism’s Livio Goetz also appreciated the chance to catch up with PTMs in one place.

“How wonderful it was to have so many conversations about actual travel to Switzerland – the interest was huge, everyone was keen to learn more about Switzerland and the free-flow format worked well.”

ANZCRO’s Nick Guthrey concurred: “The day was very worthwhile with a good mix of discussions, from refreshing agents on ANZCRO to talking through live quotes and bookings.”

“We are very keen to support these types of events moving forward as it is an important way to stay connected.”

Mr Gazal said suppliers were generous in their support of the market day through their attendance and the giveaways to participants.

“Among the prizes on the day was a Virgin Voyages cruise ex-Barcelona for two adults from Barcelona, which will be drawn later in June, plus Hoot Holidays gave away a five-night stay at Le Meridian Khao Lok, a five-night stay at Phuket Marriott and a three-night stay at Warwick Fiji.”

Melbourne-based TravelManagers PTMs recently enjoyed a day with suppliers in seaside Geelong.
