What's a sure-fire way to boost tourism to a destination? Bring Travel Advisors around, literally. That's how TravelManagers will help stimulate travel to two recovering locations.

What’s a sure-fire way to boost tourism to a destination? Bring Travel Advisors around, literally. That’s how TravelManagers will help stimulate travel to two recovering locations.

Speaking in Perth over the weekend, Michael Gazal said TravelManagers would host two future annual conferences in destinations that “needed us more than anywhere” – Hamilton Island (2020) and Christchurch (2021).

The Executive General Manager told 345 Advisors and suppliers that the group has wanted to take the conference to both destinations for some time, however, they weren’t ready and needed more time to recover from natural disasters.

And they’re nearly ready.

Aside from Christchurch’s new convention centre – Te Pae – that’s scheduled to open late 2020, the two locations have completed major transformations to offer world-class product and experiences.

“We’re really excited to be going to Hamilton Island next year and then over to New Zealand for our 14th conference.”

Personal Travel Managers (PTMs) welcomed the announcement with a near-standing ovation. Enthusiasm built further after House of Travel’s (TravelManagers’ parent company) Founder Chris Paulsen said that Tourism New Zealand would develop “really special itineraries” for the group.

“There are all sorts of pre-and-post-conference tours that we’re organising. There’s also a very special community event that we’ll be doing,” he said via a pre-recorded video.

Meanwhile, from Hamilton Island, Advisors will be able to re-familiarise themselves with the entire Whitsunday region. This includes a visit to the newly opened InterContinental on Hayman Island.
