Gay and Lesbian Tourism Australia (GALTA) welcomes Travel Agents to join them in Cairns this weekend for both their Annual General Meeting and to celebrate with the wider community at the Cairns Tropical Pride Festival.

GALTA, for those who don’t know, is a dedicated network of tourism professionals who work together to make sure all domestic and international LGBTIQ+ travellers in Australia feel welcome and have a great time.

Over 100 LGBTIQ+ friendly Aussie hotels have partnered with GALTA and feature on their website which you can find here.

GALTA invites all tourism professionals to join their Annual General Meeting which will take place this Saturday, October 13 from 11am at Coral Tree Inn in Cairns.

This will be followed by some casual drinks and nibbles in the pool area from 12.15 pm.

It’s no coincidence that the AGM sits smack bang in the middle of North Queensland’s largest LGBTI festival, Tropical Pride.

This year’s festival takes place across three days from this Friday, October 12 until Sunday, October 14.

There will be three days and nights of art, theatre, film, music, dance, fashion, drag, high camp, party, community, glamour, culture, beach, dogs and flags.

Australian drag star Karen From Finance will be among the performers and musicians taking to the stage at the festival’s signature Fair Day event at the Tanks Arts Centre in Edge Hill.

Organisers are also planning a huge rainbow flash mob. Click here for the full itinerary.
