Invigorated by my short stay in Nadi, it was time to relish every last bit of the Bula spirit aboard my Fiji Airways flight home to Sydney.
CHECK-IN & BEYOND

The new Fiji Airways app worked well, making check in a breeze from my sun lounger on Denarau Island.
Guests staying at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa can make use of the awesome resort check-in when travelling with Fiji Airways and any of their codeshare airlines.
The counter is manned from 4:30 am until 12:30 pm daily and will transfer your luggage directly to the airport allowing you to speed right through immigration and security. How good is that?
THE LOUNGE

The facility is impressive with vibrant, lush greenery lining the entrance, ample seating, a media room and an enclosed children’s play area.
The buffet food offering was varied, fresh and interesting. From lemongrass and garlic chicken to the fluffiest couscous I have ever tasted and a dessert selection that featured a caramel cake that just melted in my mouth.

An ample selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available, including a Cocktail of the Day.
There’s also the Spa @ The Gate experience offering a 10-minute Fijian Foot Ritual for $FJD25 and a 45-minute Island Facial priced at $FJD90, all treatments exclusively use Pure Fiji products.

Those travellers without access to the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge can purchase entry for $FJD99.
SEAT & ENTERTAINMENT
Fiji Airways economy class
The economy class seating section is a configuration of 2-4-2 with five rows at the back of the plane offering 2-3-2 configuration.
Unlike my previous journey from Sydney to Nadi when I was seated in a slightly awkward seat, this time around I was seated in 23A.
Ample entertainment is offered with a variety of recent release movies and old favourites shown on 26cm monitors.
In addition to movies, there’s also TV shows, music, themed radio stations and games plus a section dedicated to young flyers.
SERVICE & FOOD
Although the flight was short, Fiji Airways was kind enough to serve guests dinner during the flight. The food was enjoyable and worth trying next time you’re in the air.
When it comes to service, Fiji Airways is a master. The airline’s crew were exemplary, professional and incredibly helpful. They’ve definitely got the ‘Bula’ spirit.
