The lifestyle of the Thai’s is one of acceptance, growth and change (as propelled by the Buddhist belief of reincarnation and karma) meaning Thailand is a land that embraces everyone with open arms. How incredible is that?

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has been promoting LGBT travel for years, and their efforts are really beginning to bear fruit. Earlier this year, a LGBT travel symposium was held in the nations capital, Bangkok, with another already planned for next year.

The desired result of this incentive is to propel Thailand into the forefront of gay and lesbian travel, globally. And we can see that this move is having an impact over here in Oz too, with the destination being selected as a finalist for the LGBTI destination of the year award in the LGBTI awards in Australia and New Zealand. TAT will also be featuring in the 2019 Midsumma Carnival in Melbourne, an annual celebration of LGBTI culture. Let those rainbow flags fly!

THERE’S SO MUCH TO LEARN ABOUT LGBT TRAVEL IN THAILAND

GoThaiBeFree is the brilliant official travel blog created by TAT for all things LGBT in Thailand. This is the go-to site for epic travel offers, hot destinations and friendly hotels and restaurants. Plus you will find tips for travelling the beautiful country. This blog catches the essence of gay life in Thailand perfectly, and summarises the Thai’s view on acceptance in one key phrase: Mai Pen Rai, which, when translated to english means ‘No Problem‘!

And, in news which is even more brilliant than the fact Thailand is officially a total no-brainer in the holiday destination ranks, the Thai government is also looking set to legalise same-sex civil unions.

If the law is passed by the end of the year, Thailand will become the first Asian country to ever recognise sam-sex partnerships in a court of law. AMAZING.

This means Thailand is fast-becoming one of the top LGBT marriage destinations in the world. Several hotels offer same-sex marriage services, and are focused on creating the perfect, tailor-made wedding for their loved-up guests.

Sounds pretty great, right? For more info, special offers and deals, visit Amazing Thailand or have a read of Go Thai Be Free.
