China Southern Airlines will run daily services between Guangzhou and both Perth and Adelaide across the summer peak, up from three flights a week on each route.
The carrier is lifting its Guangzhou-Perth (CZ319/CZ320) and Guangzhou-Adelaide (CZ663/CZ664) services from three to seven flights a week from 1 December 2026 to 10 March 2027, adding capacity for Australian travellers heading to China and onward across Asia and Europe.
Both routes are operated on Boeing 787 aircraft, and all additional flights are now open for booking.
The schedule at a glance
On the Perth route, CZ319 departs Guangzhou at 13:35 and arrives in Perth at 21:25, with the return CZ320 leaving Perth at 23:25 and touching down in Guangzhou at 07:15 the next day.
From Adelaide, CZ663 leaves Guangzhou at 22:25 and arrives at 09:55 the following morning, while CZ664 departs Adelaide at 11:30 and reaches Guangzhou at 18:05.
Where the extra seats connect
Guangzhou is China Southern Airlines’ main hub, linking to more than 170 destinations across China, Asia, Europe and beyond, giving Western Australian and South Australian travellers a single-stop gateway well beyond the Chinese mainland.
The move also adds to a growing wave of capacity into South Australia, following the recent launch of China Eastern’s nonstop Adelaide-Shanghai route.
Free hotel and tour
China Southern offers complimentary one-night transit accommodation in Guangzhou for eligible passengers with a connection of between six and 30 hours on China Southern-operated flights.
Passengers with a layover of at least eight hours in Guangzhou can also join a complimentary 5.5-hour guided tour of the city.
According to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics’ (ABS) report for international travel (for May), China was Australia’s fourth most popular overseas destination. The month before (April), travel to China grew by a whopping 34 per cent year-on-year.
But the new flights should also boost inbound tourism for Western Australia and South Australia, growing seats from Australia’s second largest source market for visitors.
