Vietjet will commence a new service between Ho Chi Minh City and Adelaide later this year, marking the fifth Australian port and state for the Vietnamese carrier.

Vietjet will commence a new service between Ho Chi Minh City and Adelaide later this year, marking the fifth Australian port and state for the Vietnamese carrier.

Set to commence on 21 November 2023, the new Vietjet route will operate via Perth in each direction, but will still represent the first “direct” services between the two cities.

Flying five times weekly, the service will depart HCM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 06:35 (local time), stopover in Perth, and arrive in Adelaide at 21:10 (local time).

Return flights from Adelaide depart at 07:25 (local time), stopover in Perth, and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 15:40 (local time) every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Vietjet announced flights to its fourth Australian destination, Perth, in August.

To mark the launch of the upcoming Adelaide and Perth services, Vietjet is offering a sale on all flights to Vietnam ex-Australia, with one-way all-inclusive prices from just AU$165.

The travel period for flights between HCM and Perth and Adelaide is from 21 November 2023 until 29 March 2024, while the travel period for other international routes is from 1 November 2023 until 31 October 2024. The sale will run until 10 October 2023 – 23:59 (GMT+7).

The Vietnamese low-cost carrier also flies to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, launching flights to the NSW and Victorian capitals in March and the Queensland city in June.

In July, Vietjet said it would increase frequencies on existing Aussie routes from 20 to 34 flights per week – equal to a whopping 70 per cent increase in capacity.

Vietjet automatically offers free Sky Care Travel Insurance with flights – covering medical expenses for flight-related issues – among other benefits like loyalty points via the SkyJoy loyalty program.
