Niseko Village is adding a new name to its slopes, with Moxy Niseko Village due to open in Q3 2026 ahead of the 2026/27 winter ski season.

The 310-room, five-storey hotel will bring Marriott’s Moxy brand to one of Japan’s best-known alpine destinations, adding a social, design-led accommodation option for travellers chasing powder, mountain time and an easy après-ski base.

Moxy heads to Hokkaido

The hotel will mark Japan’s fourth Moxy property and will sit directly beside the Niseko Village Gondola, giving guests ski-in/ski-out access from one of Hokkaido’s most in-demand resort bases.

Rooms will follow the Moxy format, with compact, tech-forward design and flexible spaces aimed at travellers who spend more time out exploring than sitting still. The property will also feature communal areas and the brand’s signature Moxy Bar.

The hotel will add a social, design-led accommodation option at the base of Mount Niseko-Annupuri.

The hotel will open for its first Green Season before the 2026/27 winter ski season, with Niseko continuing to build year-round appeal across hiking, cycling, golf, wellness and outdoor travel.

More lift capacity coming in 2026

The ski resort will debut a new eight-person gondola in December 2026, replacing the existing Mori-no chairlift.

The new gondola is expected to double uplift capacity and improve mountain flow for skiers and snowboarders during peak winter periods.

The hotel will join the resort precinct at the base of Mount Niseko-Annupuri, which includes hotels with onsen, dining and retail, luxury residences and access to alpine experiences.

For travel advisors, the opening adds another Marriott-backed option in a destination with strong demand from Australia, particularly among ski travellers looking for Japan’s snow, food and onsen with easy access to the lifts.
