Air Vanuatu has announced its post-pandemic schedule to celebrate Vanuatu’s reopening to international travellers from July 1, 2022, with flights departing from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Air Vanuatu will resume its services to the nation’s capital, Port Vila from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney on 1 July, with flying times all less than four hours, as Vanuatu reopens its border to international travellers.

Vanuatu will open its borders to fully-vaccinated international travellers from 1 July 2022 with no quarantine, with travellers able to book flights to Port Vila from today with Air Vanuatu. 

Air Vanuatu Chief Executive Officer, Atu Finau, says the 1 July border opening is welcome news for the national carrier.

“The reopening of Vanuatu to international leisure travellers from 1 July is a major milestone we have been looking forward to and it will be great to see Australian travellers return to Vanuatu,” Mr Finau said.

“Flying with Air Vanuatu means passengers enjoy a warm Vanuatu welcome from the moment passengers step onboard and we are delighted to recommence our services from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne from July.”

What’s Air Vanuatu’s new schedule look like?

  • Five non-stop flights a week from Sydney to Port Vila (3hr 30 flight duration) – departing Monday 1055, Wednesday 1920, Friday 1055, Saturday 1920, Sunday 1055
  • Three non-stop flights a week from Brisbane to Port Vila (2hr 50 flight duration) – departing Tuesday 0900, Friday 1925, Sunday 1925
  • One non-stop service a week from Melbourne (4hr flight duration) – departing Thursday at 1145
