China Southern's new Sydney route for the new year

China Southern Airlines will amp up its services to Australia over the peak travel season, with a new direct service between Sydney and Shenzhen.

China Southern Airlines will amp up its services to Australia over the peak travel season, with a new direct service between Sydney and Shenzhen.

The new flight will operate temporarily three times weekly from 28 January to 31 March 2016.

Utilising the A330-300 aircraft, guests will have access to three different cabin – First, Business and Economy Class – on flight departing Saturday, Monday and Thursday.

The Saturday service will take off from Sydney at 10.00 and arrive Shenzhen 16.15; then Monday and Thursday depart Sydney 09.30 to arrive Shenzhen 15.45.

Louis Lu, China Southern Managing Director Australia & New Zealand said the new service shows confidence in the Australian market and the carrier’s ongoing commitment to expand gateways into China.

The announcement follows China Southern’s recent announcement to increase its Sydney-Canada-Sydney service from double to triple daily as well as its decision to send the 787 to Perth.
