US-bound Aussies, get ready for a new-look Delta experience. Delta Air Lines is introducing a fresh cabin design across its fleet, aiming to elevate the travel experience with a modern touch.
This new design debuts on its Boeing B757 in the Northern Hemisphere autumn, with wider rollouts, including the Airbus A350 – which flies to Australia and New Zealand – starting in early 2025.
The carrier aims to have its entire fleet updated with this new design over the next few years.
“Delta has a 100-year history of creating a customer experience that feels welcoming and thoughtful with intentional design elements woven into every aspect of a customer’s travel,” Delta Air Lines Vice President – Customer Experience Design Mauricio Parise said.
“As we embark on our next century of flying, this refreshed cabin interior infuses utility with beauty to create an atmosphere that feels fresh, elevated, and timeless while reflecting our customers’ evolving tastes and expectations.”

The revamped interior features comfortable new seating materials, memory foam cushions on widebody jets and improved lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere.
Delta Comfort+ or Main Cabin flyers will experience fresh leather seats with an updated aesthetic. Meanwhile, the carrier’s Premium Select and First Class passengers will enjoy new breathable wool and nylon blended seats with a new leather headrest design for more comfort.
Delta has also refreshed its brand look, blending soft, warm tones with natural materials like wool, and incorporating subtle heritage colours.
The redesign includes thoughtful details like Delta logos, new seat tags and decorative patterns on bulkheads, making passengers feel more at home.

Mood lighting adjusts throughout the flight to keep customers comfortable and better adjust to time zones. Lavatories have also been updated with bright colours and modern finishes.
The Infinite Grid design motif highlights Delta’s global connectivity, while the Celestial Sky pattern brings a touch of wanderlust.
Delta’s goal is to provide a consistent experience across its fleet, so customers know what to expect, regardless of their aircraft type.
Starting with short-haul routes, the new cabin design will gradually extend to more planes and longer international routes in the coming years, aligning with Delta’s operational schedule.

“Every flight is different, so we’ve focused on creating warm, calming and atmospheric lighting options that create an environment for customers to rest and relax, or stay productive as they wish,” Parise stated.
“For boarding, we’ve focused on the ‘moment of deceleration’ – warm and inviting lighting that makes the cabin appear spacious and open. At mealtimes, we queue hues that feel like you’re at a candlelit dinner – making meals more natural and inviting.
“As the lights dim for sleep, we borrow from the sunset and slowly remove blue light while bringing in warm amber tones which are reminiscent of a sunset glow. When it’s time to wake up, the cabin slowly brightens into morning and daylight.
“Delta has taken the time to develop every detail of our new interiors; the team was intentional in creating an experience that mimics our customers’ lifestyles and puts them at ease as soon as they board our aircraft.”
