Travellers are being advised of delays on flights around the UK today as dense fog continues to affect several gateways including Heathrow.
Flight delays commenced yesterday afternoon and continued through this morning with Heathrow confirming reduced operations ‘due to fog across the UK and Europe’.
More than 100 flights were cancelled by British Airways yesterday, mostly services to and from Heathrow and Docklands airport, London City.

Additional services were cancelled by other airlines yesterday including several by KLM, Lot and Brussel Airlines. Most cancellations have been domestic and short-haul European flights. Only a few intercontinental services have been affected such as United Airlines’ flight to Chicago.
According to the BBC, other affected airports include Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, Leeds Bradford and Cardiff. London City was even reportedly closed for several hours yesterday.
Travellers are being urged to confirm their flights before heading to the airport.
