A four-way dinner table, a double bed for couples, and a board room for business travellers – these may sound like features from a hotel, but they’re actually part of a new Business Class that’s coming to Australia!
Qatar Airways has confirmed it will send its Qsuite to Canberra mid-2018, making it the first Aussie city to receive the innovative new class.
The announcement was made last month by Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, during the launch of the carrier’s services to Australia’s capital city.

In his speech, Al Baker said that sending the first-of-its-kind Business Class to Canberra was a testament to the importance of the destination in the Qatar Airways network.
“As Australia’s capital city, Canberra, our fifth Australian gateway, is an important addition to our global route map and further boosts the existing strong ties between Australia and Qatar.”
Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Chief Executive
By now you’re probably wondering, what’s so special about this Qsuite?
First of all, two Business Class seats can be converted into a double bed whereby couples or young children and their parents can sleep alongside each other. It’s the first double bed to feature in Business Class, which is pretty cool.
Sliding privacy doors are used to give these couples privacy by ceating a private cabin.
If that’s not impressive enough, entertainment screens dividing four seats can be removed to create a four-way dining area for family or a four-way board room table for business travellers.
Other features of the Qsuite include privacy doors, ‘do not disturb’ signs, and more, click here to read about them all.
