After delaying its return to Western Australia, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has revealed that it will be heading back to Perth on 29 October 2023.
The resumption of ANA’s Perth-Tokyo (Narita) route marks the return of non-stop flights between Western Australia and Japan for any airline.
Customers can book flights between the two destinations from today (13 June).
ANA had originally planned to resume its PER-NRT flights in March this year, but Japan’s largest airline postponed its WA comeback to coincide with its Northern Winter flight schedule for 2023.
“From the winter schedule [starting late October], ANA will resume services between Perth and Tokyo Narita with three round trips per week,” ANA Australia country manager Brett Walsh told Karryon earlier this year.
Utilising its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, ANA will operate the service on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
From 29 October to 29 March 2024, flight NH882 will depart Perth at 21:55, arriving in Tokyo Narita at 08:30 (+1).
For the return leg, flight NH881 will leave Tokyo at 11.20 and touch down in Perth at 20:30.
ANA suspended its Perth-Tokyo flights in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, ANA increased flight capacity between Sydney and Tokyo Haneda. The carrier also celebrated seven years of flying between Sydney and Tokyo Haneda at a big event at Sydney Airport.
In April, the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that Australian arrivals into Japan had surpassed pre-pandemic numbers for the first time.
Elsewhere, ANA also announced it would be upping flights between Tokyo Narita and Singapore to four round-trips per day during the summer season (26 June – 28 October 2023).
