Qantas' Alan Joyce is one of the most online stalked CEOs in Australia

Everybody wants to know more about Qantas' head honcho, Alan Joyce, and they're all (okay, maybe not all) turning to LinkedIn for the goss.

Everybody wants to know more about Qantas’ head honcho, Alan Joyce, and they’re all (okay, maybe not all) turning to LinkedIn for the goss.

According to the business social networking platform, Joyce was one of the ‘Most Viewed CEOs on LinkedIn’ this year… or as we liked to put it, one of the most stalked CEOs in 2016.

Like online stalked. We all know it. Don’t pretend you haven’t done it before. It looks a little like this…

🙂 jokes.

LinkedIn didn’t reveal how many people viewed Joyce’s profile over the last nine months, however, we’d put our money on it being well over 200,000, seeing as he has some 136,841 followers (yep, I looked at his profile this morning).

Among the things LinkedIn users would have learned about the airline boss include his working history, that he is a “firm believer in the important of diversity in the community and workplace” (YAS! [sic]) and he’s published 17 posts on topics ranging from the China Free Trade Agreement to the state of aviation and gender equality.

Accompanying Joyce on the list of ‘Most Viewed CEOs on LinkedIn for 2016’ is Naomi Simson from RedBalloon.

The online pioneer is also known for her role on the popular reality TV series, Shark Tank, during which competitors pitch their business ideas to five panelists (including Simson) who then attempt to outbid each other to invest in the start-up.

Simson has an incredible 1.4 million followers who are active in reading her many inspirational posts on ‘the entrepreneurial journey’, how to improve your business and tips to pitching your ideas.

Joyce and Simson were two of seven CEOs on the list, others included Brian Hartzer from Westpac Group, Andrew Penn from Telstra, Cindy Hook from Deloitte Australia, Ruslan Kogan from Kogan and Giam Swiegers from Aurecon.

Let’s be honest, have you ‘viewed’ Joyce or Simson’s LinkedIn pages?
