Qantas overhauls entire AU inflight menu & discounts 1M domestic seats

Qantas will roll out a brand-new, domestic inflight menu for both economy and business class passengers throughout October 2024 while also discounting more than one million seats to over 60 destinations across its domestic network for seven days only.

Qantas will roll out a brand-new, domestic inflight menu for both economy and business class passengers throughout October 2024 while also discounting more than one million seats to over 60 destinations across its domestic network for seven days only.

The revamped menu will offer more choice with around 70 new items available on rotation across different mealtimes (breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper).

New domestic economy menu highlights include a chorizo, pesto and goat cheese focaccia; cottage cheese and spinach samosas and a triple-choc brownie slice.

Those in business class can expect the likes of a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, miso-glazed chicken and rice salad and a dark choc sour cherry fondant cake.

Qantas will also continue to work with local suppliers for premium snack items, such as DreamTime Tuka Macadamia Granola Slice and Fine Fettle Farmhouse Crackers with whipped feta dip and carrots, as well as a focus on more sustainable packaging.

All passengers will continue to receive Lindt Lindor balls with the airline serving 2.8 million chocolates on domestic flights last year.

In May 2024, the airline upgraded its snack offering to a more substantial hot item selection menu on flights over two hours following customer feedback.

The national carrier is currently the only domestic airline to offer complimentary food and beverages, baggage and onboard Wi-Fi on its domestic Boeing 737s and Airbus A330s in Economy.

Qantas has also dropped its latest domestic Red Tail Australia Sale with one-way fares from $109 available until 9 October 2024 for travel between November 2024 to June 2025.

More than thirty routes are on sale for under $150 one-way in economy, including Ballina-Sydney from $109, Launceston-Melbourne from $119, Brisbane-Sydney from $135 and Cairns-Townsville from $139.

Economy one-way fares on sale also include Sydney-Hobart from $159, Burnie-Melbourne from $169, Broome-Perth from $239 and Cairns-Darwin from $259.
