After a dozen or so sales already this year, Qantas has launched its first stand-alone premium cabin sale since before COVID.

Whetting flyers’ appetites over the next week will be thousands of discounted Business and Premium Economy seats to most Qantas international destinations including New York, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Nadi and Auckland.

In total, more than 20 routes are on sale, with the busy December and January periods even discounted. Overseas Christmas and New Year, in style, anyone?

On offer until 11.59pm (AEDT) 20 June 2024 (unless sold out prior) for travel between July 2024 and May 2025, the marked-down seats are available with cash or points as a Classic Plus reward seat.

Some of the discounted fares include Melbourne to LA return in Premium Economy for $3,199 or 179,300 points (plus taxes, fees and carrier charges), Sydney to London return in Premium Economy for $3,799 or 179,600 points (plus taxes, fees and carrier charges), Sydney to Auckland return in Business for $1,199 or 62,500 points (plus taxes, fees, and carrier charges) and Melbourne to Seoul return in Business for $3,999 or 224,000 points (plus taxes, fees, and carrier charges).

Launched in April, Classic Plus lets frequent flyers use points like cash fares. Points needed vary, with lower points required during sales.

Offering more than 20 million extra reward seats, Qantas unveiled Classic Plus Flight Rewards in April. The initiative is a new way for Qantas Frequent Flyers to book flights using points and represents one of the biggest expansions of the QFF program in its 35-year history.
