Western Australians will be able to satisfy their taste buds at 30,000 feet thanks to Singapore Airlines’ popular Book the Cook service, which is now available on services from Perth.
From 1 October, Business Class customers will be able to satisfy their cravings by pre-selecting their main meal up to 24 hours before their flight takes off.
Singapore Airlines Area Manager Western Australia, David Pinches, said Book the Cook has been widely popular with customers currently accessing the service from more than 20 destinations, including Sydney and Melbourne.
He expects the introduction of the service on flights from Perth will further enhance the customer inflight dining experience by giving them more choice and access to restaurant-quality food.

The launch of Book the Cook in Perth comes as Singapore Airlines continues to celebrate 50 years of operations to Australia, with the first flight from Singapore to Perth in 1967.
As part of the celebrations, the carrier and Alpha Flight Services offered a specially designed commemorative Australian-themed menu on flights from Perth to Singapore between April and June.
Alpha Flight Services, Perth, Head Chef, James Koh said he was very pleased to be able to work with the airline again to provide an enhanced onboard dining offering.
“We were very pleased to have the opportunity to create some exciting dishes as part of Singapore Airlines 50th Anniversary earlier this year,” Chef Koh said.
“To have the opportunity to once again work with the team at Singapore Airlines to develop a new onboard offering for their flights from Perth is something myself and the team at Alpha have been very excited about.”
Book the Cook will be available for flights departing Perth from 1 October 2017, with selections able to be made from Monday 25 September 2017.
