The Tiger-mare is almost over for travellers holding a future Tigerair ticket to Bali, with the airline confirming this morning that it will return to Indonesia in 14 days.
In an online statement the carrier confirmed it has received “key approval” from the Indonesian government to resume its A320 services between Australia and Bali from 3 February.
In the meantime, Virgin Australia will continue to transport travellers holding Tigerair tickets to and from Bali between now and the return date.
Customers currently in Bali will be contacted directly by the airline via an SMS and email (so keep that mobile data switched on). The text will include details on their updated travel arrangements.
Holidaymakers yet to leave Australia will be contacted by the airline and offered a full refund.
“Tigerair sincerely apologises for the inconvenience that this matter has caused.”

The budget carrier was forced to temporarily suspend services to Bali last week over an ‘administrative’ change by the Southeast Asian government.
Airline bosses worked closely with Indonesia’s leaders to resolve the issue while thousands of passengers searched for alternative transportation between Australia and Indonesia.
