Vietjet launches new Australian route and 50% off business fares

Here's to new skies and new connections. After launching its first Melbourne-Hanoi service earlier in the month, Vietjet carrier has commenced its inaugural flights between Sydney and Hanoi.

Here’s to new skies and new connections. After launching its first Melbourne-Hanoi service earlier in the month, Vietjet carrier has commenced its inaugural flights between Sydney and Hanoi.

Its seventh route between Australia and Vietnam, the twice-weekly service departs Sydney every Thursday and Sunday, using the carrier’s A330 aircraft. Return flights depart Hanoi on Wednesday and Saturday.

Welcomed by New South Wales and Sydney Airport dignitaries along with Vietjet Board of Directors Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thanh Ha and Vietjet Vice President Do Xuan Quang, the new service marks the second nonstop service between the NSW and Vietnamese capital cities – joining Vietnam Airlines’ twice-weekly flights.

According to the carrier, the new route will aim to help boost tourism, family travel, investment, trade and international study as well as offer connections to destinations through its flight network.

To commemorate the launch of the new route, the low-cost-carrier is offering Australian travellers up to 50 per cent off its Business class tickets until14 June 2024. To access the cheap fares, Aussies simply need to use the promo code SBJUNE50.

Business travellers enjoy priority check-in, lounge access, in-flight dining, up to 60kg baggage allowance and flatbed seats.

Less than a year after entering the market in April 2023, the airline flies to five key Australian cities: Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

In an interview with Karryon, Vietjet Group Vice President Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh said along with the Sydney-Hanoi service, there were possibly more new Aussie routes to come for the airline. 

Last month, Vietjet picked up two awards in the 2024 Airline Excellence Awards: Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline and Best Low-Cost Airline Onboard Hospitality.
