AirAsia X has adopted the concept of ‘try it before you buy it’ by giving flyers the chance to experience its Premium seating prior to booking.

The budget carrier has placed one of its AirAsia X Premium Flatbeds at Flight Centre’s George Street store where they can sit in the 20” width, 60” pitch chair and even try stretching out to 77” in full recline position.

Available for in-store trials from now until 19 April, potential flyers will also get an idea of the inflight features included in the cost such as universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen.

Once they’ve stretched out and enjoyed the award-winning product, they can then turn to their Agent for more information on the product such as priority check-in, priority boarding, priority baggage, 40kg baggage allowance, complimentary meal, pillow and duvet, and access to the AirAsia Premium Red Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2.

The in-store Premium Seat is just the latest in a range of activities from the low-cost carrier to boost its presence in the local market.

Late last year, the carrier teamed up with Aussie pop sensation Guy Sebastian to promote the airline’s brand and its services from Australia, while also showcasing some of his favourite Asian destinations (mainly those in the AirAsia network).

AirAsia X also recently confirmed an expansion to its network to include its first US destination – Hawaii. The airline said Aussies can take advantage of the carrier’s cheap fares by booking Honolulu via Kuala Lumpur.
