Alan Joyce has reportedly used a portion of his 2015 $12 million pay packet to purchase a designer holiday home worth $5 million in the Northern Beaches.

The purchase was revealed by Domain, however, real estate agent, Peter Robinson from LJ Hooker Palm Beach declined to confirm any details of the purchase including buyer identity.

The property is believed to have been designed by Gartner Trovato.

While KarryOn wouldn’t usually report on the Qantas CEO’s private life, it does tie into the carrier’s latest move.

The airline today entered a ‘new era’ with American Airlines as the pair launched their new codeshare flights.

If you live close to Sydney Airport you’ll be able to spot the first Qantas codeshare American Airlines flight between Sydney and Los Angeles early tomorrow morning.

American Airlines will fly four times weekly between the Harbour City and the City of Angles with its B777-300ER featuring lie-flat seats in First and Business.

The new service allows Qantas to move its Boeing 747 off the route and to the San Francisco to Sydney. Click here for more information.
