Silversea’s entire 10-ship fleet is back in service, including the luxury cruise line’s newest ship, Silver Dawn, which embarked on a maiden season in the Mediterranean Sea with a splash in April 2022, and the ice-class debut of Silver Origin.

Silversea president and CEO Roberto Martinoli said this major milestone marked the first time in the cruise line’s history with 10 ships in operation.

“I am incredibly proud to see all of our ships now welcoming guests around the world after what’s been a challenging period for the global travel industry,” Mr Martinoli said.

Since last year, the cruise line has taken delivery of three new ships – Silver Dawn, Silver Moon and Silver Origin – and converted Silver Wind to an ice-class expedition vessel, complete with an ice-strengthened hull for cruising in polar regions.

The update of Silver Origin was completed in November 2021 and includes refreshed interior spaces and new additions, 24 Zodiacs and 14 kayaks plus each voyage taps into the knowledge of up to 28 onboard expedition experts.

Silver Origin has a full summer of Arctic itineraries in Northern Europe and the UK before cruising down the Pacific Coast of North and South America to embark on an inaugural season in Antarctica.

“It is especially gratifying to have our beloved Silver Wind embark on her first voyages as an ice-class expedition vessel, complete with Zodiacs and kayaks, offering our guests unforgettable encounters with nature and wildlife, and, in due course, expanding our industry-leading polar offering,” Mr Martinoli said.
