Arrival Revival: Tourism Fiji team shows their support for the big V

The tourism industry in Fiji continues to show its resilience and determination to get back to business by leading the way in the Pacific for the vaccine rollout.

Tourism Fiji’s Head office team in Nadi, Fiji, received their second dose of the vaccine at Nadi Airport earlier this week.

Other industry partners are also now in the position of having their staff fully vaccinated in support of the Fiji Government drive to get every eligible Fijian vaccinated as soon as possible.

Fiji is receiving enough AstraZeneca vaccines for its entire eligible population and is well on the way to vaccinating its target of 80% of the population with its first dose by August 2021.

As of Tuesday, 30 June, Fiji had administered first doses to 293,560 individuals, which represents 50% of its target adults in Fiji.

46,208 Fijians or 7.9% are now fully vaccinated.

Happiness Fiji

“While Fiji is facing an outbreak of COVID-19, we are confident that our robust vaccination programme will help keep Fiji safe. We are proud of the current roll-out and happy that our industry (and our team!) are on board with getting vaccinated,” Acting CEO, Robert Thompson commented.

Fiji says it is continuing with its vaccination programme with the help of vaccinations provided by Australia and New Zealand.
