Bleisure Bling: Luxury travel agents descend on Singapore for ILTM23

Singapore is icing the champagne in preparation for welcoming 1,000 luxury travel specialists (including Karryon) at this year’s ILTM (International Luxury Travel Mart) Asia Pacific at Marina Bay Sands from June 19 – 22.

The highly anticipated annual tradeshow for all things luxe follows last year’s successful event, the first since the pandemic, which saw 900 delegates reunite for four action-packed days of priceless face-to-face meetings, networking and, of course, long overdue parties and celebrations.

Twelve very productive months on for the sector, this year’s show will welcome a thousand delegates, including a diverse mix of luxury travel advisors, with 44 per cent of them marking their inaugural presence at the Asia-Pacific gathering.

The majority of these advisors hail from Australasia (60 per cent), with travel networks, including Travel Associates, heavily represented alongside advisors from Southeast Asia, China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.

Travel Associates alone has 65 leaders from the brand in Australia and New Zealand joining this year’s show after a private pre-event for the group taking place over the weekend, which will include Regent Seven Seas, Globus Family of Brands, Oceania Cruises, Ponant and Discova.

Sharing her excitement for the days ahead in Singapore, Global Managing Director – FCTG Independent and Premium Travel Brands, Dani Galloway, says, “We are absolutely thrilled to be invited by ILTM to attend this prestigious event.”

“To be hosted in Singapore as an entire brand is a very special experience, and we are so appreciative of the recognition and opportunity afforded to us by ILTM.”

ILTMs focus is on fostering connections to accentuate the continued boom in the luxury travel space across the region. And this year is no exception, with a series of designed interactions involving sellers, buyers, and media representatives, including pre-scheduled meetings, networking events, and a VIP media programme.

“Our business leaders will benefit greatly from the chance to meet so many luxury suppliers to establish connections that will benefit their clients for many years to come,” says Galloway.

Alison Gilmore, Director of ILTM Portfolio with RX Global, said about this year’s event, “ILTM Asia Pacific will bring new levels of travel expertise and boundless energy. The success of ILTM is not just the appointments on the show floor, but the many different opportunities to meet, connect, network and build relationships – often officially and informally.”

One of the prime drawcards of ILTM Asia Pacific lies in the opportunity to ‘travel the world’ across a single show floor, with countries including Fiji, Italy, Portugal, and South Korea confirming their presence this year, adding to the event’s extensive geographical footprint.

Attendees can also look forward to the unveiling of ILTM’s latest research series, Buzz versus Reality, which aims to demystify the current luxury travel trends.

The study, produced in collaboration with affluent research specialist Altiant, explores the recent and planned travel behaviour of luxury travellers, including high-net-worth Chinese individuals, offering insights into their travel preferences, expectations, and spending intentions.

The full report will be available for download on the ILTM App and website on June 20.
