Who doesn’t love a bit of extra commish? Rail Online is upping travel advisor commission on Eurail passes from seven per cent to nine per cent from today (10 July) to show its appreciation for its agent partners.

Who doesn’t love a bit of extra commish? Rail Online is upping travel advisor commission on Eurail passes from seven per cent to nine per cent from today (10 July) to show its appreciation for its agent partners.

Available until 31 July 2023, travel advisors can score the extra commission for bookings made on the Rail Online platform, including on the Eurail Global Flexi Pass, which is valid in 33 countries across Europe.

Rail Online general manager Kirsty Blows says the company is gearing up for record growth in the second half of the year, driven by its popular Eurail passes.

“The growth we are seeing in European rail bookings and enquiries suggests that the steady increase in air capacity between Australia and Europe is starting to push airfares down and fuel increased demand,” she stated.

“At the same time, it’s clear that high-profile sporting events such as the Tour de France, Wimbledon and the forthcoming Rugby World Cup are proving to be major drawcards.”

‘Closer ties’

A “well-deserved thank you” to agents, Blows said the commission boost also follows an extraordinary six months for Rail Online.

“Over the past six months we have forged closer ties with key travel agency groups, added new support services and rail products, and extended our global footprint to include the UK, Canada and the United States,” she added.

“These developments simply would not have been possible without the exceptionally strong support we receive from our travel partners across Australia.”

Earlier this year, Rail Online appointed Evolution Travel Collective (ETC) to drive sales and brand awareness in the Australian market among travel advisors.

Earlier this year, Rail Online CEO James Dunne said rail journeys were playing a bigger role in Australian travel itineraries than ever before, but booking rail could be a complex task.
