Youth tour operator, Topdeck, is giving Contiki and G Adventures a little extra competition in Asia by launching its first tours in the continent.

Announced this week, Asia adds to the company’s existing operations in Europe, Oceania, North America, Middle East and Africa.

According to Global Brand Director, Sarah Clark, the expansion into the region was part of a bigger growth plan to meet demand from the 18 to 30-year-old travel market.

She explained that a recent study on guests found Asia to be at the top of their bucket list. But not only do they want to explore the region, they want to do it in an affordable way.

“We’ve seen a gap in the market for the travel style that suits smaller group sizes of 18 –39 year olds looking for adventure, local experiences and premium product.”

To kick start the program, Topdeck will take its 18 to 30-year-old guests to Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia in 2016.

Guests will be able to explore authentic street food markets, dine at a social enterprise restaurant and lunch with locals in remote villages.

First-hand knowledge will come from local trip leaders, while unique experiences will be made in carefully selected locations such as Hakuba, Ho Chi Minh and Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

“This is Asia like we’ve never seen it before.”

“We’re the first to launch a product of this style in this location, it’s a picture of what is yet to come with Topdeck.”

Ms Clark recommends the 27-day Indochina and Thailand trip as a great way to explore Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Bangkok.

To celebrate its Asia launch, Topdeck is offering a 25 percent discount for all departures before 30 June, 2016 and a
15 percent launch deal paid in full by 15 January 2016 for departures 1 July, 2016.
