Effective immediately, Christian Hunter assumes the role of Managing Director of Travellers Choice and joins the Board.

Hunter joined Travellers Choice in 2004 as Company Accountant and held a number of senior management positions before being appointed CEO in January 2012.

He has since overseen one of the most successful periods in Travellers Choice’s history, culminating this year with the Company’s announcement of a third consecutive year of record profits and its win as Best Travel Agency Group at the prestigious 2015 National Travel Industry Awards.

Since 2012, Hunter has also received qualifications from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and gained valuable experience serving on the boards of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents and the Worldwide Independent Travel Network.

Travellers Choice Chairman Trish Ridsdale says the time is right for Hunter to now join the Board of Travellers Choice, an Australian Public Unlisted Company owned entirely by its members:

“Travellers Choice is now delighted that Christian will bring his considerable skills and insight to the Board level as an ASIC-registered Managing Director.”

Hunter replaces non-executive Director and former Managing Director Gary Allomes, who departs Travellers Choice after more than 19 years’ service to the Company.

Ridsdale paid tribute to Allomes, who she says was instrumental in the evolution of Travellers Choice from a small West Australian-based, cooperative buying group into a highly-respected national purchasing and marketing group with members across Australia.

Travellers Choice pulled off their biggest ever conference at the Pullman Hotel in Melbourne recently, with a record 300 delegates and suppliers in attendance.
