In a year-and-a-half, Australia will have another home-based Carnival cruise ship under its belt when Carnival Splendor joins Carnival Spirit for a year of cruising down under.

The cruise ship’s first full year of cruising from the country was announced in February this year, with Carnival Cruise Line saying she’ll be the biggest and newest ship they’ve based from Australia.

During her first full year, Carnival Splendor will be based out of Sydney where she’ll host an eight-night cruise to the South Pacific departing 11 March, along with a number of other itineraries, including three weekend sampler cruises from 28 August 2020.

Thanks to a significantly larger passenger capacity of 3,006 passenger (some 900 more than Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend), Carnival Splendor presents an opportunity for the cruise line to sell more beds at sea and experience its BIGGEST season of cruising in the country (77 sailings in total).

Additionally, she’ll arrive straight after completing a bow-to-stern makeover, giving Aussie cruisers the chance to cruise with brand new activities and attractions such as a new waterpark, upgraded dining facilities and more.

Carnival Cruise Line’s Vice President Australia, Jennifer Vandekreeke, said the brand is excited by the many new and fun options Carnival Splendor‘s presence creates for Aussie cruisers.

“Joining us down under as our newest and largest ship in Australia, we can’t wait to give holidaymakers the chance to experience all the fun she has to offer.”

At the same time, Carnival Cruise Line will send Carnival Spirit to Brisbane where she’ll set off on the first cruises from Brisbane’s new International Cruise Terminal.

As the brand’s first-ever ship to be based our of Brisbane, the ship will offer Queenslanders the chance to book itineraries such as the seven-day trip to Espiritu Santo, Mystery Island and Noumea, and the seven-night New Caledonia and Vanuatu sailing.

Carnival Cruise Line’s 2020 cruises will be available for booking from July 2018. Click here for more information.
