Double vision: Two MSC World Cruises depart one port in industry first

MSC Cruises made ocean-going history with two ships departing from Genoa, Italy on 5 January 2023 to embark on simultaneous world cruise itineraries before parting ways in the Mediterranean for separate global routes that include Australia and New Zealand.

MSC Cruises’ MSC Poesia and MSC Magnifica set sail on respective 117-day and 119-day World Cruise voyages.

The last cabins are still available for shorter segments of the MSC World Cruises 2023.

MSC Magnifica’s popular 21-night Sydney to Singapore segment is priced from AUD$4,529pp and departs on 18 March 2023. 

Ports of call include Mare and Lifou islands in New Caledonia, Port Vila; Vanuatu and Alotau; Papua New Guinea, before arriving in Australia to visit Cairns and Darwin. From Australia, MSC Magnifica has an overnight stay in Benoa, Indonesia before arriving in Singapore.

Prior to this, the 36-night Valparaiso to Sydney segment visits 14 ports in six countries. Priced from AUD$7,149pp, ports include Valparaiso, Arica and Hanga Roa; Chile and Callao; Peru before cruising through the Bounty Bay Passage to Tahiti. 

After an overnight stay in Papeete, MSC Magnifica sets sail for the Cook Islands and New Zealand before arriving in Australia.

Alternatively, over 43 nights MSC Magnifica will visit 15 destinations in 11 countries sailing from Sydney, Australia all the way to Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy with cabins available from AUD$8,749pp.
