Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has a raft of new voyages and itineraries for the 2024-25 season, sailing across the Asia-Pacific region on its smaller 2,000-passenger ships – the refurbed Norwegian Spirit and Norwegian Sun.

NCL’s debut voyages for the 2024-25 season include two departures from Melbourne, a French Polynesia cruise from Papeete to Melbourne via Queensland and the cruise line’s first sailing from New Zealand to Bali.

APAC Vice President & Managing Director Ben Angell said NCL’s commitment to the region as a source market and destination includes the addition of more ships and itineraries.

“We know Asia is a popular choice for local travellers and we are excited to expand our options in this market and to continue to offer Australian, New Zealand and South Pacific voyages for those who prefer to cruise close to home,” he said.

Norwegian Spirit will sail an eight-month Asia season in 2024-25.

Norwegian Spirit, which revealed a USD$100 million bow-to-stern reno in 2022, will sail 14 voyages across Asia, while Norwegian Sun makes her first foray in the region with 12 sailings.

The NCL APAC boss, whose personal fave cruise destination is Japan, said his picks for Norwegian Spirit include a 12-day Japan round-trip cruise from Tokyo and 10-day sailings from Seoul to Tokyo.

Norwegian Sun will have an inaugural six-month APAC season in 2024-25.

On Norwegian Sun, his hand-picked selections include two first-ever departures from Melbourne – a 14-day Australia & NZ Christmas cruise and Melbourne to Auckland sailing – plus the 16-day Auckland to Bali voyage.

There’s also the 18-day voyage from Papeete (Tahiti) to Melbourne on a unique itinerary that visits seven South Pacific nations and 10 ports.

Both ships are also packed full of features to appeal to Aussie and Kiwi cruisers, such as adults-only areas, expansive spas, family entertainment and plenty of onboard dining options.
