Oceania Cruises is bringing its 1,250-guest luxury ship, Riviera, to Australian and New Zealand waters for the first time in 2025.
Known for its culinary offering and destination-focused itineraries, Riviera will embark on its first season in the region from November 2025 to March 2026, offering a collection of 14- to 35-day voyages.
Riviera should appeal to food lovers (and isn’t that everyone?). The ship features The Culinary Center, a state-of-the-art cooking school at sea, where guests can take hands-on classes inspired by regional flavours. A new addition to the programme is “Down Under Abundance”, which will showcase Australia and New Zealand’s rich culinary landscape, from fresh seafood to premium local produce.

The ship’s dining venues also aim to impress, with options including Toscana for authentic Italian, Jacques for French bistro-style cuisine, and Red Ginger for an innovative take on pan-Asian dishes.
Beyond its gourmet offerings, Riviera provides experiences through its Artist Loft and a range of onboard activities, from digital workshops to a full-service spa.
For those looking to dive deeper into local culture, the cruise line’s Culinary Discovery Tours offer guided excursions to markets, farms and restaurants, giving travellers a taste of the destination beyond the ship.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Riviera to Australia and New Zealand for the first time,” Oceania Cruises Chief Luxury Officer Jason Montague said.

“This new chapter reflects our commitment to offering exceptional, immersive experiences that celebrate the region’s diverse cultures and breathtaking landscapes.
“Riviera’s voyages will offer travellers an unmatched opportunity to savour the finest local cuisine while exploring some of the world’s most iconic destinations in unparalleled comfort and style.”
Itineraries will include a mix of well-known and off-the-beaten-path destinations. Passengers can explore Sydney Harbour, venture to Kangaroo Island’s wildlife reserves or relax on Vanuatu’s secluded Mystery Island.
Other highlights include stops in Auckland, Dunedin and the Whitsundays, ensuring a balance of adventure and luxury.

For those wanting to extend their journey, Oceania Cruises is offering pre- and post-cruise land programmes. Options include a stargazing and fishing trip on Great Barrier Island in New Zealand or a guided hike in the Blue Mountains, complete with Dreamtime stories shared by a National Park Ranger.
