Passionate foodie and avid traveller Jason Worth talks about Oceania’s new ships, the boutique luxury line’s commitment to offer the finest cuisine at sea, and essential advice for up-and-coming travel advisors.
It’s full steam ahead at Oceania Cruises. The boutique luxury cruise line welcomed its seventh ship, Oceania Vista, in 2023, her sister ship Oceania Allura arrives in July 2025, and two new ships are scheduled to set sail in 2027 and 2029.
“While Oceania Cruises’ new ships will be slightly larger than Vista and Allura, our focus remains on delivering the same ultra-premium experience aboard our award-winning fleet of small, luxurious ships,” says Jason Worth, VP Brand Finance & Strategy for Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“As with every new ship, we are constantly looking for ways to innovate and elevate our onboard offering, whether through enhanced culinary offerings, expanded enrichment programs or new guest amenities.
“We can assure you that these ships will continue to set the standard for highly personalised service, culinary excellence and destination-intensive cruising.”
Culinary heritage
Jason has sailed many times on Oceania’s ships and is a passionate foodie and long-time vegetarian, so he says he is as thrilled as Oceania’s many foodie fans to welcome signature French restaurant Jacques to Oceania Allura and Oceania Vista later this year.
“It’s a true reflection of our deep culinary heritage and our commitment to offering The Finest Cuisine at Sea,” he says. That big claim to fame is the cruise line’s registered trademark.

“Jacques, named after the legendary Chef Jacques Pépin, has been a cornerstone of Oceania Cruises’ culinary philosophy from the very beginning,” he adds.
“By introducing Jacques restaurant to our newest ships, we are not just honouring our roots — we’re offering our guests yet another exceptional dining experience to enjoy.”

Oceania introduced the world’s first cooking classes at sea onboard Oceania Marina in 2011, and the popular Culinary Center has since been installed on Riviera, Vista and the upcoming Allura.
“These purpose-built teaching kitchens provide an incredible hands-on opportunity for guests to explore global flavours, refine their cooking skills, and enjoy chef-led culinary experiences at sea.
“The culinary classes are equally popular with men and women and are often enjoyed as a social activity by couples or groups of friends.

“Food is at the heart of the Oceania Cruises experience, and I’m passionate about exquisite cuisine myself. Being a vegetarian, I really appreciate the incredible variety of plant-based options across our fleet.
“We have introduced hundreds of new plant-based recipes in recent years, ensuring there is something for everyone, whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free or just looking for fresh and flavourful dishes.”
Worth says he’s always relishes the opportunity to dine at Red Ginger, which is available on the newer ships and the smaller Oceania Sirena.
“I love the diversity of Asian cuisine and the bold, fragrant flavours, but if I had to pick just one favourite restaurant it would probably be Aquamar Kitchen. It’s perfect for lighter, wellness-inspired fare. I can never pass up the açai bowls, power smoothies, fresh juices, and of course, the avocado toast!”

Power of travel
With degrees in accounting and a background in finance, Jason says he has always been fascinated by the way travel connects people, cultures, and experiences.
“Early in my career, I saw firsthand how the right travel experience could create lasting impact — whether for business growth, personal enrichment, or family memories. That realisation, combined with a passion for global markets and customer service, drew me into the industry.
“I travel quite a lot for business but like to fit in time for a family cruise. We sailed in Alaska last year which was a wonderful opportunity to really see nature close up including bears, bald eagles and whales. We have Riviera sailing in Alaska this year, which has a Culinary Center and the Artist’s loft, plus many specialty restaurants to choose from, making it a great way to enjoy Alaska onshore and onboard.
“You think you have seen many places, then you look at a map and realise how many more you want to see! I always enjoy Italy and could go back time and again to experience the history, art and delicious food.”

Talking about some of the highlights of his successful career, Jason says the christening of Vista in 2023 was a very special experience.
“The event was held in Malta which was a fitting setting for such a beautiful vessel. We invited many of our trade partners from Australia and it was a chance to spend time with them as we sailed the Mediterranean. I look forward to seeing her sister ship Allura in July this year.”
Vista will visit Australia briefly on her inaugural World Cruise in 2026, a mammoth 197-day sailing from Los Angeles to Miami.

Tips for travel advisors
“For anyone starting a career in travel today — especially as a travel advisor — my best advice is to focus on building genuine relationships and staying ahead of industry trends.
“Travel is deeply personal, and clients value advisors who understand their preferences and can offer tailored experiences. Leveraging technology and data is also key, as today’s inquisitive travellers expect seamlessly personalised service.
“With travel agents ranking among the fastest-growing jobs in Australia, it’s an exciting time to enter the industry, but success will come to those who combine expertise with a truly customer-first approach.”
New horizons
Worth will shortly be moving to Oceania’s head office in Florida after spending 14 years in the Sydney office and says, “I look forward to the new role in Miami and I have been fortunate to create so many memories in Australia, including being able to work with such a fantastic team and all our trade partners.
“I grew up in Miami and have always loved the outdoor lifestyle, and that’s something my family has really enjoyed about living in Australia. We spent a lot of time swimming and exploring the beaches in Sydney’s beautiful Eastern suburbs.”
