Scenic is waving its black and gold flag proudly down Myanmar’s Irrawaddy, with the line’s first river ship in the Southeast Asian country launching last month.
Some 45 Scenic guests were among the first to experience Scenic Aura’s 22 all-balcony suites and high end luxury during her 10-day maiden voyage from Pyay to Mandalay.
On board, the vessel provides guests with a boutique, intimate environment, catering to only 44 guests in spacious suits ranging from 24sqm to 70sqm.
All rooms feature separate bedroom, living room and balcony, while the Royal Panorama Suite is the largest suite on the Irrawaddy, and features four separate zones – bathroom with extra-large bathtub, rainfall shower and walk-in dressing room; bedroom; living room and outdoor forward facing deck complete with daybed and Jacuzzi.
The 5-star Scenic Aura also boasts a choice of dining venues offering a la carte to casual dining made from the freshest local produce, a vitality pool and bar area, spacious bar and lounge, Sun Deck with open air cinema, complimentary beverages, butler service for all guests, an almost 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio plus a guest laundry.
Scenic’s Chairman, Glen Moroney, said the line is excited to launch its second ship in Southeast Asia, and its first in Myanmar.

Scenic Aura joins the Scenic fleet of 16 luxury river cruise ships throughout Europe, Russia and South East Asia, and continues the expansion of Scenic’s luxury fleet in the South East Asia region with the launch of Scenic Spirit on the Mekong in January 2016.
