Get excited because the Vikings are coming back! And they'll be hosting a number of ship inspections for travel agents at each Australian port from December.

Get excited because the Vikings are coming back! And they’ll be hosting a number of ship inspections for travel agents at each Australian port from December.

Viking Orion, the newest ship to join Viking’s award-winning ocean fleet, will soon be calling Australia home when it begins home-porting in Australia for three months every year starting this December.

Arriving in Darwin on 4 December as part of Viking’s Komodo & the Australian Coast Bali to Sydney itinerary, Viking Orion will then spend the next three months sailing between Sydney and Auckland on Viking’s brand-new Australia & New Zealand cruise route.

Viking Orion will depart Sydney in early March 2019, recommencing the Komodo & the Australian Coast itinerary.

After her very first visit to Australia in February this year, Viking Sun will also be travelling back Down Under again in March on Viking’s 128-day 2019 Viking World Cruise itinerary. Read all about that here.

Viking Sun’s journey will include stops in Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth – and it will be the first time a Viking ship has visited the latter two cities.

The good news is that Viking will be hosting a number of ship inspections for travel agents at each Australian port.

To gain access, travel agents will need to register in advance and Viking will confirm their attendance closer to the inspection date.

“The fact that Viking is about to start home-porting in Australia and New Zealand demonstrates just how fast the cruising market is growing here and how much we believe in it. Viking has six ocean ships at present, and having two of those ships in local waters at the same time will be incredible,” said Michelle Black, Managing Director of Viking Cruises Australia and New Zealand.

“We were overwhelmed by the reception that Viking Sun received earlier this year and we can’t wait to show off Viking Orion to our valued travel agents in both Australia and New Zealand so that they can experience the Viking difference for themselves,”

Michelle Black, Managing Director of Viking Cruises Australia and New Zealand.
