Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism and Etihad Airways kick-started their week of agent Roadshows last night in elegant style at the Sofitel in Brisbane.

The capital and cultural hub of the United Arab Emirates brought a touch of luxe and Arabian magic for 200 plus agents who turned up on a chilly Brissie Monday night to learn more about the trending destination and enjoy some Middle Eastern hospitality.

And there were contented faces everywhere as agents tucked into a delicious array of Middle Eastern dishes and glasses of gold leaf topped bubbly as the opulent scents of oud and frankincense drifted around the room.

Now that’s a cake!

The centrepiece of the night was an incredible Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque inspired cake surrounded by a spectacular dessert section that got demolished by the end of the evening.

Throughout the evening, agents took part in a fun, interactive learning race that saw them driving Formula One cars on the Yas Marina Circuit at Yas Experiences, take a virtual reality journey through Abu Dhabi’s desert sands, snap some funny selfies and get gorgeous henna tattoos done.

Suppliers included Etihad Airways, Jumeirah Hotels, Orient Tours, Yas Marina Circuit and Yas Experiences.

Later on in the evening, agents heard from Abu Dhabi Tourism who personally thanked them for playing their part in helping grow Abu Dhabi, which has seen a record growth of Australian arrivals in recent months and now ranks the city and surrounds as a top trending destination.

From the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi last year and numerous new hotels to the highly anticipated Warner Brothers (Opening 25th July 2018), the Guggenheim Art Gallery on Saadiyat Island and new Jumeirah properties coming soon to join the map, agents discovered that Abu Dhabi continues to evolve as a destination that clients now want to stay in beyond just a stopover.

Did someone say prizes? A bunch of lucky Agents also won some epic prizes including TWO Etihad airfare tickets, five-star hotel nights at Jumeirah Abu Dhabi and bucket list experiences at Yas Island. And of course… Everyone walked away with a surprise Abu Dhabi showbag at the end of the night.

The roadshow continues tonight in Melbourne and on Thursday evening in Sydney.

5.30 – 9.00pm, Luminare, Cnr Browns Lane & York Street, South Melbourne

5.30 – 9.00pm, The Ivy, 330 George St
