Just two weeks after losing the rights to host future climbs, BridgeClimb Sydney was crowned the ‘Best Experience in Australia’ among international travellers.

BridgeClimb Sydney landed the number one position in TripAdvisor’s annual Travellers Choice Award for Top Australian Experiences AND received the NUMBER FOUR spot globally.

The announcement comes a mere two weeks after Roads and Maritime Services ended its 20-year relationship with BridgeClimb Sydney, in favour of a new contract with Hammons Holdings.

Wow, the timing on that one.

TripAdvisor users said they “absolutely loved” the entire Harbour Bridge Climb, but mostly appreciated the knowledgeable guides and the “amazing” views.

Great work BridgeClimb Sydney.

Just behind Sydney’s biggest attraction was Melbourne’s Great Ocean Road Small-Group Ecotour, which travellers described as “well organised” and “breath-taking”.

Sydney’s Taronga Zoo and Wild Australia Experience came in third for offering “terrific” behind-the-scenes experiences, while Yarra Valley Wine was ranked fourth, followed by Phillip Island Penguin in Melbourne.

Rounding off the top 10 experiences were Melbourne’s Colonial Tramcar Restaurant Tour, Sydney’s Opera House Guided Walking Tour, Cairns’ Great Barrier Reef Diving and Kuranda Scenic RailwayDay Trip, and finally Perth’s Swan Valley Wine Gourmet Wine Cruise.

Meanwhile, the three worldwide experiences ahead of Sydney’s BridgeClimb were Cooking Classes at a Tuscan Farmhouse in Florence, Berlin Bike Tour in Germany and Guided Sightseeing Tour in New York.
