Intergalactic travellers will sip on drinks at Oga’s Cantina & blast across the stars in the Millennium Falcon sooner than expected because Disneyland California moved up the opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Star Wars fans, switch to lightspeed. The new land will open at Disneyland Park in California on 31 May 2019, and at Walt Disney World in Florida on 29 August 2019.

You have two-and-a-half months to use the force and boost your finances enough for a trip to The Golden State or The Sunshine State.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open in two phases, with the first designed to replicate the remote planet of Batuu where visitors will be enveloped into a world of international smuggling. They’ll be able to sample galactic food and beverages, while also encounter familiar faces such as Rey, Finn, and Poe to BB-8 and Chewie.

Adventure seekers will have the opportunity to join Han Solo and Chewbacca as they blast their way around the galaxy aboard the infamous Millennium Falcon, or check out Oga’s Cantina for exotic drinks and spirited entertainment provided by a former pilot droid called DJ R-3X.

From 31 May at Disneyland Park and 29 August at Walt Disney World, travellers will finally be able to try Blue Milk and Greek Milk at The Milk Stand – one of the many vendors at the bustling Black Spite Outpost Street Market. Other stalls include Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo where Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs puts his skills to use, and Ronto Roasters famous for its mouth-watering Ronto Wraps.

Music across Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will include all-new themed composed by the franchise’s award-winning composer John Williams, while ‘merchant shops’ or souvenir shops will invite visitors to construct their own astromech droids, customise their own lightsabers and more.

Another highlight of Disney Parks’ newest land will be its integration into the ‘Play Disney Parks Mobile App’, where guests can translate the galactic language, learn the contents of hidden crates or complete missions.

Phase two, opening later this year, will be Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the most ambitious, immersive and advanced attraction ever imagined, which will place guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality.
