Australian travellers are being advised to exercise a high degree of caution in Turkey after a bomb was detonated in the country’s capital overnight.
Around 32 people were killed and more than 100 were wounded in the explosion in Ankara’s Guven Park. It’s the second major attack in the city in less than a month and also follows the suicide bombing in Istanbul earlier in the year.
According to reports, several vehicles on the scene, including one bus, were burned in the explosion.
Despite the attack, The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has maintained its ‘exercise a high degree of caution’ advice for the country.

So far, there’s no reports of any affected air services or tour operations.
The explosion comes as the country’s flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, prepares to market its services and the destination to millions of pop culture fans around the world.
The airline will make its Hollywood debut in the new DC movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which will be released worldwide on 25 March.
According to the carrier, the inside of a Turkish Airlines plane will set the stage for a pivotal scene in the movie. A sneak peek of the movie shows Wonder Woman aka Gal Gadot stowing her carry-on luggage in the overhead bin.
Additionally, the carrier recruited Batman aka Ben Affleck and Luthor aka Jesse Eisenberg to promote its services in two new ads. Click here for more information.
