What exactly defines a ‘cool neighbourhood’? It’d vary from person-to-person, but travel and entertainment gurus over at Time Out say it’s a place where travellers REALLY feel like locals.
The coolest neighbourhoods, according to Time Out, are those that immerse visitors into their every day life, their tastiest cafes, their best bars and their favourite hangouts.
And apparently, Melbourne’s Fitzroy does this best in Australia.
The suburb with a bohemian reputation was named 10th coolest neighbourhood IN THE WORLD, before places such as West Village, New York (17th), Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro (28th) and Wynwood, Miami (33rd).
Fitzroy even managed to outrank Sydney’s Enmore, which was named 14th coolest in the world.
Topping the list for 2018 was Embajadores in Madrid, followed by Euljiro in Seoul and Nueva Villa de Aburrá in Medellín.
