We’re big fans of encouraging travellers to go their own WAy, and the magic of the Indian Pacific packages means your clients can do just that. Travel aboard this iconic train is one of the most meaningful WAys to experience the journey from Sydney to Perth.

On Journey Beyond’s Rottnest Discovery holiday package, travellers enjoy the indulgence of the legendary Indian Pacific experience – including stellar Off Train Experiences – complemented with the best of Perth.

Extending the Indian Pacific journey, this 7-day holiday package sees your clients whisked away to their Perth accommodation for three nights. With free time to explore the best of the City of Light, plus a life-affirming tour to Rottnest Island (life-affirming because: quokkas!), your clients get to have it their WAy, all the WAy.

Rottnest Discovery trip highlights include:

  • All-inclusive travel aboard the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth, including Off Train Experiences
  • Cruising to Rottnest Island to meet the friendly quokkas
  • Free time to explore vibrant Perth
  • 3 nights’ 4 ½ star accommodation in Perth

For travellers who want to experience even more of the wonders of WA, the 9-day Margaret River Indulgence is a must!

Alongside the brilliant Indian Pacific rail experience from Sydney to Perth, the happy travellers who say yes to WA in a big WAy will also enjoy five nights’ accommodation after alighting in Perth. This includes 2 nights soaking in the how-good-is-life ambience in the Margaret River Region.

The folks who call the Margaret River region home seem to have winning WAys to make travellers happy. It’s easy to feel content when you’re sipping locally-produced wine while dining on locally-grown feasts! On the 2-day Margaret River Escape tour, ecstatic is a more common emotion than content, though!

The Margaret River Indulgence also includes a fun-filled Discover Rottnest day trip.

Besides the on and Off Train Experiences aboard the Indian Pacific, tour highlights include:

  • Going underground at the awe-inspiring Mammoth Cave
  • Walking the longest timber jetting in the Southern Hemisphere at Busselton
  • Witnessing mainland Australia’s tallest lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin
  • Meeting the world’s happiest animal, the quokka, on Rottnest Island
  • Sampling the best of the Margaret River region, be it wine, cheese, coffee, chocolate or other artisanal creations

From $4,355 per person, twin share.

Of course, that’s not all that’s aboard the Indian Pacific in 2024. Check out our recent ‘what’s new’ article for more inspo!

Changing WAys

This transcontinental journey from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean reveals landscapes like no other at a pace where one can truly soak it all in. As the dramatic Australian landscape changes across the 4,300 kilometres, so, too, does the perception of time and even travel. It’s just one of the gifts of slow travel!

Departing Sydney, vistas unfold like rabbits from a magician’s hat. From the Blue Mountain’s eucalyptus haze to the rich-red expanse of the Outback to the shift in flora upon nearing Perth, passengers see Australia in a new (and unhurried) light.

Life on board is one of comfort and indulgence. Whether it’s enjoying the innovative cosy cabins, relishing regionally inspired food at one of the three dining carriages, or sipping an Australian fine wine from the Gold and Platinum lounges, passengers rave about the level of care and attention throughout the journey.

For the ultimate cross-country rail-only adventure, the full 4-day Sydney to Perth Indian Pacific experience is recommended. Though passengers can, of course, board in Adelaide for a shorter 3-day sojourn.

Indian Pacific Sydney to Perth railway highlights include:

  • 4 days, 3 nights aboard the Indian Pacific
  • All-inclusive meals, fine wines, and beverages
  • A delicious regionally inspired menu perfectly paired with local wines
  • Off Train Experiences in Broken Hill, Adelaide, Cook, Rawlinna, and Perth

From $2,430 per person, twin share.
