FORGET ONLINE SITES, Travel Agents book 60% of Aussies to Hawaii

Marketing the destination on national TV tickles the travel bug, and airline sales bring it front of mind, but it's Travel Agents who are getting Aussies across the line and booking Hawaii.

Marketing the destination on national TV tickles the travel bug, and airline sales bring it front of mind, but it’s Travel Agents who are getting Aussies across the line and booking Hawaii.

That is, according to statistics that show 60 percent of Australians visiting Hawaii booked via a Travel Agent.

Hawai’i Tourism Oceania’s Giselle Radulovic revealed the figure to TravelManagers during their annual conference at Prince Waikiki in Oahu and stressed the destination wouldn’t have the success that it does without consultants.

“You are so important to us… [because] you inspire, motivate, educate and book the trips that bring people here.”

“We couldn’t do it without you.”

Radulovic continued, describing consultants as an “important distribution network” who will be responsible for sending the majority of the 400,000 travellers from Oceania to Hawaii in 2018.

That’s 400,000 opportunities to make COMMISSION!

“You’re key to what we do, so a big Mahalo from us,” she added.
