Dozens of classic cars will drive to the ‘best kept secret of Arabia’, Oman later this year for the country’s first classic car rally.
Rally Royale Oman Grand Tour will jump start for three weeks from 28 November, with 26 classic cars from iconic luxury brands (Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin and Bugati) racing around the country.
From sub-tropical, ancient Salalah – home of the finest frankincense – the rally route follows Oman’s sparkling coast, through the vast Wahiba Sands and up into the high, cool mountains of Jebel Akhdar.
After visiting legendary Muscat, the tour continues north through Musandam – the Norway of Arabia – before finishing in neighbouring Dubai.
Mona Tannous, Country Manager Australia & New Zealand Sultanate of Oman Tourism said it is the first-of-its-kind event for the region.
“Drivers will stay at some of the world’s finest hotels, ‘rough it’ in luxury desert camps, enjoy local culture and marvel at the breathtaking landscapes that unfold around the network of modern roads – virtually empty for long stretches – that crisscross Oman’s mountain, desert and coastal regions.”

Mr. Al Mamari, Director General, Oman Ministry of Tourism endorsed the event, saying: “We look forward to Rally Royale Oman becoming a hallmark event for the Sultanate of Oman.”
Hosting the event for the first time, Rally Royale this year coincides with the Sultanate’s 45th national day celebrations.
