Anaheim is playing host to IPW 2019, so now is the perfect time to rediscover “the city built on imagination”.

In Southern California there is a city, full of colourful personalities who work each and every day to create something truly unique and special.

This city is called Anaheim, and all of its delicious food, yummy drinks, shopping experiences and unforgettable fun is created by the uncommon characters who call it home.

This year, IPW is being hosted by Anaheim, so there has never been a better time for you to visit and let out the uncommon character within.

When it comes to talking about Anaheim and “Memorable Characters” it’s hard not to immediately think of Mickey Mouse, and the place he and his friends call home, Disneyland. Built in 1955 by Walt Disney himself, Disneyland has created magical memories for millions of guests, with the promise of more to come.

Opening May 31, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge invites children of all ages to experience “The Force” in a way they never could before. Boasting new rides, new characters to interact with, and new food (Blue Milk by the Millennium Falcon, anyone?) this new addition to Disneyland is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Another great theme park to visit during your time in Anaheim is Knotts Berry Farm. With dozens of rides, shows and attractions there is something here for every thrill-seeker.

While you’re there, make sure you get a picture with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the peanuts gang, or challenge yourself by strapping into the Ghost Rider, the longest, tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster on the west coast.

The Anaheim Packing District, located right in the heart of downtown Anaheim is a foodies dream. Spread across three historic buildings, guests are encouraged to come and try what the locals have created.

Begin with an entree at the MAKE building, a former marmalade factory, for a wine or some BBQ. Then head over to the Anaheim Packing House, a historically preserved citrus packing warehouse, where there are too many options to list.

Finally walk over to the Packard Building, a former car dealership, and have a locally crafted beer for dessert at the Anaheim Brewery.

After all that food you’ll need some exercise, or at least need to watch someone else exercise, and with two major sports team located in Anaheim, your inner sport-fanatic will relish the opportunity to cheer on the home team.

Make your way to Angel Stadium of Anaheim to catch a baseball game and perhaps catch a home run hit by Mike Trout, or if it’s the off season, walk across the street to the Honda Centre to see the Anaheim Ducks, where you can marvel at how Ryan Getzlaf shoots the puck across the ice.
