Today Tuesday 8th November, 2016 no matter from which corner of the world you come from, or from which sideline you are cheering from, it will be a historical day.

The election polls opened in New York at 6 a.m and will close tonight at 9.00 pm EST.

The five most important states in this election are Florida, Ohio, Georgia, New Hampshire, and Iowa. The first state to close of the ‘famous five’ will be Florida at 7.00 pm and the last state will be Iowa at 10.00 pm EST.

At 8.30 am this is what was happening on the streets of New York City.

The election after party for Hillary Clinton will be held at the luxury Peninsula hotel on 5th Avenue. The setting was a little different than normal, no limousines instead a line up of trucks to form a barricade and policemen armed with machine guns.

(There have been reportedly 5,000 police officers deployed in New York City today.) Worth noting this hotel is only a block away from Trump Tower.

Trump will be holding a guest only event at the Hilton midtown. Security was relatively scarce as they were setting up the ballroom, however by the time you read this article I am sure security will be at epic proportions. In true modest Trump style this event is featured on his website as the ‘Donald J Trump Victory Party.’
