Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines join countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand by outlawing the use of vapors after a World Health Organisation study found they do little to help quit smoking.

Travellers may want to unpack vapors before heading to popular destinations such as the Philippines, where tourists can face up to four months in jail for vaping in public spaces.

In Cambodia and Vietnam, the penalties for using vapors aren’t yet clear, however, in Thailand there’s a 10-year sentence for bringing e-cigarettes or refills into the country.

India also recently introduced a ban on vapors along with Lebanon, which is currently ranked third in the world for the most cigarette consumption and earns some US$271 million in revenue from tobacco sales per year.
