We all know the movie, it’s one of the most iconic in history that gave us a passion for the little black dress, high buns and pearls, while also infusing us with the overwhelming desire to have breakfast at a high-end jeweller.
Now travellers actually can – have Breakfast at Tiffany’s that is.
The Blue Box Cafe, a jeweller recently opened on the fourth floor of Tiffany & Co.’s Fifth Avenue store, is drawing in fans of the flick through a new in-store dining experience.
For the first time ever, holidaymakers and jewellery shoppers can have a bit to eat (specifically breakfast, lunch and baked goods) at an eatery located alongside the accessories department.
For the full movie experience, fans can order a ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ starting from US$29 or AU$38, which comes with coffee or tea, a croissant, seasonal fruit and a choice of waffles, a smoked salmon and bagel stack or eggs on toast.
Lunch includes an olive-oil poached salmon with caviar and smashed potatoes for US$39 or AU$50, and there’s also a selection of baked goods to order such as a chocolate mousse cake from US$12 or AU$16.
Meals are served on china decorated in Tiffany blue, but of course, plates aren’t the only aspect of the eatery decorated in that familiar colour, it’s also seen in the walls, couches, table clothes and more.
The best part of the entire experience (aside from feeling as glamorous as Audrey Hepburn) is the undisturbed view of the southern end of Central Park.
