What makes a great airport? For many, it’s the speed or ease at which you can pass through it. For others, it might be its cleanliness. But for many (including some in the Karryon office), it’s all about the wining and dining, shopping, and other fun stuff.
According to the 2023 Skytrax World Airport Awards, the best airport in the world for food and beverage is Singapore Changi (which also happened to be the world’s best hub overall).
Following perennial high achiever Changi, was Istanbul (Turkey), and Seoul Incheon (Korea).
The World’s Best Airport Dining award takes into account the “selection, types and quality of food and beverage outlets at the airport (cafe, bars, restaurants, fast food etc) and the value for money”.
Elsewhere, SIN won the award for World’s Best Airport for Leisure Amenities, which considers features such as “video game facilities, children’s play facilities and game areas, rest/sleeping areas, garden areas, music relaxation lounges, fitness, spa and shower facilities, sightseeing tours and more”.
The next best in this category was Doha Hamad (Qatar) and Paris CDG (France).

The world’s best hub for shopping, according to the World Airport Awards, is Doha Hamad (Qatar), followed by Istanbul and (guess who?) Singapore Changi.
